Yankees' Domingo German throws perfect game

New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German threw a perfect game against the Oakland Athletics on June 28, 2023. He was the first pitcher to do this in 11 years, and the 24th to do it in MLB history. This is even more impressive considering German had been mightily struggling in his last couple of starts. In his last start at home against Seattle, German allowed 10 runs (8 earned runs) and only completed 3 1/3 innings. German dedicated his performance to his uncle, who passed away 2 days earlier.

This is an amazing story for German, especially due to his struggles. Although some people might not find this impressive because it was against the worst team in the MLB, they're still professional baseball players and a perfect game is a perfect game. This might be a turning point in the season for German, who has an ERA of 5.10.
