LA Rams release Cooper Kupp

On Wednesday, March 12, the Los Angeles Rams announced that they were releasing wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Kupp spent 8 years in LA, and helped them win Super Bowl LVI in 2022, where Kupp won MVP of that game. It is very likely that the Rams are cutting Kupp to make room for Davante Adams, who the Rams picked up last week.

I understand why the Rams cut Kupp, but it's still a big deal, as Kupp is a former Super Bowl MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. Although he's not the same receiver that he was in 2021, he's still a solid receiver and he deserves some recognition. He might have been overshadowed by Puka Nacua, but that doesn't make him bad. It'll be interesting to see where he will go. I think he'll go to a team that struggled last year, like the Titans, Giants or Patriots, because the Titans and Giants are likely drafting quarterbacks, while the Patriots need an offensive weapon badly. Of the 3 I think he'll go to the Patriots, because Drake Maye needs help, while players like Cam Ward and Shadeur Sanders will likely just be trying to get their feet wet in the NFL. Maye might be as well, but the Patriots are in a worse situation than the Giants or Titans.
