Around a week ago, I did my NFC draft grades, so now it's time to do the AFC. I'm sure you know how these work by now, so let's get into it.
New York Jets: B+
The Jets chose to give Aaron Rodgers protection instead of Brock Bowers, which was a magnificent move. Then they got a receiver in Malach Corley, another great move. Even Jordan Travis, a backup quarterback to replace Zach Wilson, was a good move.
New England Patriots: A
The Patriots got their quarterback of the future in Drake Maye, which is a great move. Ja'Lynn Polk is a solid receiver and Jevon Baker is a hell of a receiver, so the future is looking bright post-Bill Belichick.
Buffalo Bills: B
After trading down in the first round twice, the Bills led off the second round by drafting receiver Keon Coleman, who's underrated as hell. The Bills have no receivers, and Coleman might do some great things in his rookie year. Then they got safety Cole Bishop, who is fantastic. But it went slightly downhill after the first two picks.
Miami Dolphins: B-
The Dolphins started off with a bang, getting Chop Robinson, one of the best edges in the draft in my opinion. Their next pick was confusing, tackle Patrick Paul. But on day 3 they got some damn good receivers, so that saved their grade.
Kansas City Chiefs: A
The Chiefs traded up with their enemy Buffalo to get insanely fast receiver, Xavier Worthy. They then got solid tackle, Kingsley Suamataia, and got amazing players on day 3. Can they pull off the first ever 3-peat? We'll see
Los Angeles Chargers: C+
The Chargers got tackle Joe Alt in round one, and then got a hell of a receiver in Ladd McConkey. Then in round three they got a steal in linebacker Junior Colson. Then it went downhill. So I decided to be a bit generous and give them a C+.
Las Vegas Raiders: A-
The Raiders got top tight end Brock Bowers, and then crushed the rest of the draft. Jackson Powers-Johnson. Delmar Glaze. Decamarion Richardson. Tommy Eichenburg. I could go on and on. New GM Tom Telesco knocked it out of the park.
Denver Broncos: B+
The Broncos got their quarterback of the future in Bo Nix, a great choice. Then they got great players such as Jonah Ellis and Troy Franklin. There were some confusing choices and that's what kept this grade from an A.
Pittsburgh Steelers: A-
The Steelers started off great with Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier, and then kept it going with Roman and Payton Wilson. They kept it going all draft, so they earn an A.
Cleveland Browns: A
Despite no first-round pick, the Browns nailed this class. Michael Hall Jr and Jamari Thrash helped turn a small class into a big one.
Cincinnati Bengals: A-
A great class by the Bengals. Amarius Mims is a great offensive lineman that can help keep Joe Burrow healthy. Kris Jenkins is a great defensive lineman that can shred offensive lines, and Jermaine Burton is a deep ball threat.
Baltimore Ravens: B
I love Nate Wiggins and he can boost that Ravens secondary. Roger Rosengarten is also great. But then it went downhill. Still a decent class, though.
Houston Texans: B
After a stellar free agency, the Texans chose to play it safe in the draft, and it worked. Calen Bullock definitely was a standout of this class. Kamari Lassiter was also pretty solid too. The rest weren't flashy, but weren't awful, either.
Indianapolis Colts: B
Decent class from Chris Ballard. Started off with a great edge in Laiatu Latu, and followed it up with a hell of a receiver in Adonai Mitchell. It started going downhill, but the first two picks were enough to earn a B.
Jacksonville Jaguars: C+
The class started off strong, and then went downhill (I know I'm repeating myself). Jordan Jefferson is a big headscratcher in round 4.
Tennessee Titans: C+
This class was pretty mediocre. JC Latham was good, T'Vondre Sweat was weird, and everything else was just there.
