2024 World Series preview

The 2024 World Series is here, so it's time to predict it. I'll be breaking down these two teams journey through the year, and my predictions will come at the end. Let's get into it.

The Yankees missed the playoffs last year, so they signed Juan Soto in free agency, and he and Aaron Judge carried the Yankees to the AL's top spot. They beat the Royals in the ALDS and took out the Guardians in the ALCS. Soto hit the game-winning home run in game 5 to clinch the pennant. The bats are very much alive in New York.

The Dodgers had a great regular season last year, but crumbled against the Diamondbacks in the NLDS. They made huge headlines by signing Shohei Ohtani in free agency, and he had a historic season, with 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases, the first ever to do that. The Dodgers took the top spot in the NL, and beat their division rivals, the Padres, in the NLDS. Then they beat the Mets in the NLCS. They also have great bats, but will they take the crown.

Now my prediction. This has the makings of an iconic World Series, and I can see it going either way. But my predictions is the Dodgers to win in 7. The MVP will be Shohei Ohtani. And everyone outside of LA will be pissed.

Phillies and Mets game 2 recap

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the New York Mets in Game 2 of the NLDS, and oh my God, that was one hell of a game. As someone who went to this game, I can honestly say that might have been the best game I've ever attended. Let's recap.

The first two innings went scoreless. But then in the 3rd inning, Mark Vientos hit a two-run Homer to put the Mets on top 2-0, and Citizens Bank Park went quiet. The Phillies bats didn't help, as they went quiet as well, and Pete Alonso hit a solo shot to put New York up 3-0. But then Bryce Harper hit a two-run blast to make it 3-2, and Nick Castellanos hit a solo dinger the very next batter to tie the game 3-3.

In the 7th inning, Brandon Nimmo homered to put the Mets up 4-3. The Phillies threatened in the bottom half, but Kyle Schwarber struck out looking to end the inning. The Phillies bullpen shut out the Mets in the 8th inning, and Bryson Stott hit a two-run triple to put the Phillies on top, and the Bank went wild. JT Realmuto hit a grounder to third to score Stott and make it 6-4 Phillies.

The 9th inning was insane. Matt Strahm came in to finish the job for the Phillies. But he gave up a two-run Homer to Vientos to tie the game at 6. Luckily, the Mets didn't score again that inning, meaning the Phillies needed one run to win the game and tie the series at 1 a piece.

Austin Hays struck out and Kyle Schwarber popped out to third to start the 9th.  Trea Turner walked and Bryce Harper nearly hit the walkoff hit, but it went foul. Harper went on to draw a walk. Then Nick Castellanos hit a line drive to left to walk it off and tie the series. HOLY CRAP.

The two teams will meet in NYC on Tuesday night in Game 3. The winner will take a 2-1 lead and be one win away from the NLCS. LETS GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
