As of the time of this articles writing, the Braves and Mets have split their doubleheader, which means they're both playoff bound. So, it's time to predict every single series in the 2024 playoffs, from the Wild Card to the World Series.
Wild Card Series
Braves vs Padres: Braves in 2
Mets vs Brewers: Brewers in 3
Tigers vs Astros: Astros in 2
Royals vs Orioles: Royals in 3
I understand many people don't expect to see the Royals winning, but I feel like they're hungry this year. There's something about them that interests me. The Tigers, I feel are too inexperienced to make a deep run (although I said that about last year's Diamondbacks). The Braves have a lot of experience and I think that's key. The Brewers, I feel, have a bit more firepower then the Mets.
Division Series
Braves vs Dodgers: Dodgers in 5
Brewers vs Phillies: Phillies in 4
Royals vs Yankees: Yankees in 3
Astros vs Guardians: Astros in 5
The Dodgers, I think, will get over the hump this year now that they have Shohei. As a Phillies fan, I think they have a better overall team than the Brewers. The Royals would have no shot at beating the Yankees, and the Astros always make the ALCS, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.
Championship Series
Phillies vs Dodgers: Dodgers in 6
Astros vs Yankees: Yankees in 7
Two great series. As a Phillies fan, I just can't see them beating the Dodgers. I know they won the season series, but the offense can be inconsistent at times, and that won't fly against a team like the Dodgers. The Yankees have so much firepower, and this is the year they dethrone the Astros.
World Series
Dodgers vs Yankees: Dodgers in 6
MVP: Shohei Ohtani
This would be an incredible World Series with tons of storylines, but I see the Dodgers riding the bat of Shohei Ohtani.
