2024 NBA Finals preview

The NBA Finals are set. The Dallas Mavericks will face off with the Boston Celtics for the Larry O'Brien trophy. The Celtics cruised their way to the Finals as the league's top team while the Mavericks sort of surprisingly went through some big teams to the Western Conference trophy. Let's get into it.

The Celtics, as previously mentioned, were the top team in the NBA, and have 64 wins. They cruised past the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers in 5 games, and swept the Indiana Pacers. Many people are quick to notice that all the teams they beat were missing key players. While I've given my opinions on the team as a 76ers fan, I understand where people are coming from, but the Celtics are talented as hell, and no one can deny that. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are arguably the league's best duo, but can they take out another great duo?

The Mavericks finished fifth in the West, with 50 wins. They defeated the Clippers in 6 games, then surprised the top-seeded Thunder in 6 before taking out the red-hot Timberwolves in 5. Luka Doncic is on another level from the rest of the league, while Kyrie Irving, former Celtic, is showing age isn't slowing him down. This team is destined for greatness, but will they shock Boston?

Here are my thoughts. This will be a gritty, competitive series, but Boston takes it in 6. Tatum and Brown will be balling out, and Luka and Kyrie won't have an answer. Boston gets their 18th title and breaks their tie with the Lakers.
