(DOUBLE FEATURE) Caitlin Clark breaks college basketball scoring record and Eagles center Jason Kelce retires

This will be a double article featuring two big recent sports news: Caitlin Clark breaking the all-time NCAA Division I basketball scoring record and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce retiring after 13 seasons. We're gonna start with the former.

Iowa phenom Caitlin Clark has broken the all-time Division 1 college basketball scoring record, surpassing "Pistol Pete" Maravich. She broke the record on Sunday, March 3, with two technical free throws. The crowd went wild after she knocked down the second. This was Clark's final regular-season game as a Hawkeye, as she announced she'd enter the 2024 WNBA Draft. Clark and the Hawkeyes defeated No.2 Ohio State 93-83, and will be the two seed in this week's Big Ten tournament.

This is a huge accomplishment for Clark as she begins to wrap up her college career. She's going to go down as one of the greatest women's college basketball players to ever do it, and she's a certain lock as the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft. She's a phenomenal player, but there's one thing missing from her resume: a national title. Can she claim it in March? We will see.

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has decided to retire after 13 incredible seasons in the NFL. He announced his retirement in an emotional speech on March 4. Kelce thanked the city of Philadelphia in his speech, saying, "Yes, they will let you know when you're not performing well, but they will also love you if you show effort, aggression, desire and the will to fight. They will love you in this city if you love it the way you love your brother. They've been caring for generations in this town about this team and they aren't about to except a bunch of excuses and soft-ass nonsense representing the name on the front of the jersey, something they've invested their entire lives in." Kelce's parents and brother Travis were in attendance.

As a huge Eagles fan, I'm very grateful for what Kelce has brought to this city. He has plenty of All-Pros, Pro Bowls, but most importantly, he brought us a championship. He gave this city something they'd wanted for years, and for that, I'm thankful for him. He's one of the best centers to ever do it. Happy Retirement, Jason.
