76ers win Game 1 over Nets, 121-101

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 121-101 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Sixers made 21 3-point field goals, which is a playoff franchise record. James Harden made 7 of those 3's, which is his most as a Sixer. Although the Sixers rolled to a huge victory, they couldn't stop Mikal Bridges, who scored 30 points. Bridges was acquired at the trade deadline in February in a trade that sent star Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns. The only player for both sides that was inactive was former Sixer Ben Simmons. Simmons is dealing with a back injury that will keep him out for the rest of the year.

This was a huge win for the Sixers. James Harden played great, Joel Embiid played outstandingly. Tobias Harris came in clutch, and Paul Reed played well off the bench. If the Sixers are going to win the Eastern Conference, these are the kinds of performances they'll need from these players.

Nets coach Jacque Vaughn said pregame that the Nets couldn't let Philly play their game at half-court. However, Philly coach Doc Rivers emphasized transition defense and the possession game. The Sixers had plenty of offensive rebounds, and PJ Tucker certainly helped with that. This was a great all-around performance by the 76ers, and they will look to build on this performance in Game 2.
